🏡 Prospect Village Mixed-Use Development Moves Forward
The City of Joplin is partnering with Woodsonia Real Estate on the Prospect Village project — a large planned mixed-use development near 20th & Range Line that could include an indoor sports complex, retail space, hotel, and up to 375 apartment units if approved and built. This project is positioned to boost local economic activity, support additional housing inventory, and create a new destination for families in the region. 🌳 Ewert Park Renovation & New Community Amenities
Community members and city officials recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a major renovation at Ewert Park — a beloved neighborhood green space. The project includes a new splash play area, upgraded playground, covered courts and amphitheater, and enhanced family-friendly features. 🚧 West 20th Street Improvements & New Roundabout Coming
As part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades, a new roundabout at the intersection of Central City Road and West 20th Street is scheduled to begin construction in early spring 2026, supporting traffic flow and safety. This is one piece of the broader West 20th Street widening project that will add travel lanes, curbs, gutters, and pedestrian-friendly paths through a key corridor. 🏠 Affordable Housing & Neighborhood Investment
Plans are underway in Joplin to transform a former hospital site on Sergeant Avenue into affordable duplex homes, with support from Habitat for Humanity and the City’s housing initiatives.
